THE COMPANY
JSM Group designs and builds the power networks and digital infrastructure that clients across the UK, Europe and beyond depend on — from high-voltage grid connections and critical utilities to data centres and renewable energy. Our civil, power and digital engineers work under one roof, giving clients one team from design to energisation, with the technical, commercial and consenting risk managed from day one.
THE TEAM
Most AI roles hand you a ticket. This one hands you a problem.
JSM Group builds the infrastructure behind the UK's energy and communications networks. We're rolling out AI across the business, and we need someone who can work out where it helps, and then build it. Expect to spend as much time with the business as at your keyboard.
You'll sit with teams across finance, operations, field delivery and support. You'll find out where their time goes, spot the tasks AI can take on, and prototype solutions with the people who'll use them. When a prototype proves itself, you'll take it into production as an agent, an automated workflow or an integration with our core systems.
SCOPE OF ROLE
The AI Solutions Engineer works directly with end users to build and deliver AI use cases across JSM, under the direction of the Change & Business Improvement Lead. This is a hands-on, technical role at the heart of the AI adoption programme.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
