Overview
As the UK AI Business Solutions Solution Engineering Leader, you will lead Microsoft's technical sales organisation across AI Workforce and AI Business Process for the UK enterprise business. You are accountable for turning customer ambition into technical decisions, deployment-ready solutions and measurable value across Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio and Agents, Microsoft 365, Windows 365, Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.
The urgency of the role is significant. Customers are moving rapidly from AI experimentation towards strategic decisions about the platforms, agents, security controls and business processes that will run their organisations. Solution Engineering must reduce uncertainty, demonstrate what is possible and establish the architecture, proof and confidence required for customers to move securely from interest to commitment and scaled adoption.
Your primary responsibility is to build and lead a highly capable, motivated and accountable Solution Engineering organisation that consistently secures the technical win. You will coach Solution Engineers to own the technical win strategy for qualified opportunities, engage CxOs and technical decision-makers, and use discovery, whiteboarding, customised demonstrations, proofs of concept, pilots, hackathons and solution builds to accelerate decisions and time to value.
You will lead through Solution Engineering while mobilising the wider Microsoft system around customer outcomes: Account Teams, Specialist Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, Industry, Partners, Marketing and Delivery. You will align technical capacity to the highest-potential customers, simplify orchestration, establish clear standards for technical execution and ensure every qualified opportunity has a credible technical close plan and deployment-ready hand-off.
As a senior representative of Microsoft's AI technology strategy in the UK, you will build trusted relationships with customer and partner executives, shape transformation roadmaps and help organisations make secure, governed and responsible technology choices. The successful leader will combine strong technical and industry credibility with people leadership and operational command, equally comfortable setting strategy, coaching teams, inspecting opportunities, resolving escalations and influencing regional and global product direction.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
