AI Business Transformation Leader
UK or North America | Software & Technology
We’re partnering with a highly successful global software group to build a team focused on transforming how its businesses operate in an AI-enabled world.
AI is creating opportunities that go far beyond productivity improvements. It is changing how products are built, how teams are structured, how customers are served and, in some cases, the economics of entire software businesses.
The role
You’ll work directly with leadership teams across a global portfolio of specialist software businesses, helping them understand what AI means for their organisation and then leading them through the change required to realise it.
Every business will start from a different place. Some will already be experimenting heavily with AI. Others may believe they’re further ahead than they actually are. Some will need to fundamentally rethink their teams, products or operating models.
Your role will be to quickly understand the environment, identify what needs to change and help the leadership team make it happen.
That could involve:
- Redesigning teams and operating models around AI
- Transforming how products are developed and delivered
- Identifying new AI-enabled products or revenue opportunities
- Driving significant productivity and operational improvements
- Building high-performing, multidisciplinary teams
- Identifying capability and talent gaps
- Challenging established behaviours and ways of working
- Helping leadership teams navigate the people and cultural implications of significant change

Who are we looking for?
You could have led business transformation, built or scaled technology companies, led product organisations, or operated across several of these areas.
What matters is that you've been close to real transformation rather than simply managing a change programme.
We’re particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:
- Leading significant transformation in complex environments
- Turning technology into measurable business outcomes
- Strong understanding and curiosity around AI
- Operating across technology, product, commercial and people challenges
- Influencing senior leaders without relying on hierarchy
- Navigating resistance and difficult organisational dynamics
- Having challenging conversations while maintaining trust
- Creating ownership for change within leadership teams rather than creating dependency on yourself
We’re not looking for someone to arrive with a predefined methodology, run a programme office or measure transformation through workshops and adoption metrics. This role is much closer to being a transformation operator.

Someone who can walk into an unfamiliar business, understand what's really happening, establish credibility quickly and help its leadership team confront what needs to change. Sometimes that will require coaching and influencing. Sometimes it will require challenging strongly held assumptions. And sometimes it will mean demonstrating that what was considered high performance two years ago simply isn't high performance anymore.
