AI Consulting & Solutioning Lead – Insurance

Location: London, UK
Working pattern: Hybrid – typically 3–4 days per week in the office
Employment type: Permanent
Salary: £100,000–£135,000 + benefits + 10–15% performance bonus

About the role

We are looking for an experienced AI Consulting & Solutioning Lead – Insurance to join a growing digital transformation practice and help accelerate its expansion across the UK and wider EMEA market.

This is a senior, client-facing consulting and growth role for an individual with strong Insurance sector expertise, combined with experience across AI, Generative AI, data, digital transformation and technology-led consulting.

You will bring a strong understanding of the Insurance industry, including its business models, operating environments, value chains and transformation priorities. You will use this knowledge to identify opportunities and shape practical, commercially compelling solutions that deliver measurable business value.

Working with senior business and technology stakeholders, you will act as a trusted advisor — helping clients understand how AI, data and digital technologies can transform their organisations while translating strategic ambitions into executable programmes.

You will lead opportunities from origination and client discovery through consulting, solution design, commercial shaping and closure, working with multidisciplinary teams spanning strategy, data, AI, engineering, architecture and delivery.

Key responsibilities:

Growth & commercial leadership

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for Digital, Data and AI transformation within the Insurance sector.
  • Build and accelerate a qualified pipeline across UK and EMEA Insurance accounts.
  • Identify new opportunities, buying centres and areas for account expansion.
  • Develop senior relationships across existing and prospective Insurance clients.
  • Lead opportunity identification, progression, solutioning and commercial closure.
  • Shape compelling propositions, business cases and value propositions for clients.
  • Work collaboratively across consulting, technology, data, AI and delivery teams to develop integrated solutions.
  • Develop commercial models, pricing approaches and revenue forecasts.
  • Contribute to the growth and profitability of the digital transformation portfolio.

Insurance digital transformation

Act as a trusted advisor to senior Insurance executives on the application of:

  • AI and Generative AI
  • Data and advanced analytics
  • Intelligent automation
  • Digital platforms and customer experience
  • Workflow and process transformation

Help clients move from strategy and ambition through to implementation and measurable outcomes.

Solution leadership

  • Lead multidisciplinary solutioning teams across consulting, architecture, AI, data, engineering and delivery.
  • Translate complex Insurance challenges into practical, scalable technology and transformation solutions.
  • Develop propositions that balance business value, technical feasibility, scalability and commercial viability.
  • Articulate the economic value and expected outcomes of proposed solutions to senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure solutions are aligned with Insurance industry requirements, operating models and regulatory considerations.
  • Support clients in adopting new technologies, processes and ways of working.

P&L & financial responsibility

The role will carry commercial responsibility for digital transformation engagements, including:

  • Revenue forecasting and pipeline management
  • Engagement budgeting
  • Commercial modelling and pricing
  • Margin management
  • Revenue and account expansion
  • Conversion of advisory opportunities into implementation programmes
  • Development of recurring, implementation and transformation-led revenue streams

What we’re looking for

Essential experience

  • Significant professional experience within the Insurance sector, gained through consulting, technology services and/or industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of Insurance business models, operating models, value chains and transformation priorities.
  • Experience across one or more core Insurance functions such as underwriting, claims, policy administration, pricing, distribution, customer operations or risk.
  • Demonstrable experience advising Insurance organisations on digital, data, AI and technology transformation.
  • Strong credibility with senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • Experience originating, shaping and progressing complex consulting or technology opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of practical applications of AI, GenAI, analytics, automation and digital technologies within Insurance.
  • Experience developing transformation propositions, business cases and executive-level presentations.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across strategy, consulting, technology, data, AI and delivery.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a track record of contributing to pipeline growth, revenue generation and account expansion.
