AI Creative Director

Location: UK – Hybrid / Flexible

To be considered for this role, you must have senior-level, hands-on creative experience and demonstrable experience using AI creative tools such as Adobe Firefly as an established part of your day-to-day design process. Applications without genuine hands-on AI creative experience will not be progressed.

Are you a senior creative who sees AI as an opportunity to transform how brilliant creative work gets done?

At ClearCourse, we're going through an exciting transformation of our central Marketing function, and we're looking for an AI Creative Director to help redefine how creative is delivered across a growing portfolio of software and payments brands.

This isn't a traditional Creative Director role where you'll spend your time simply reviewing other people's work. We're looking for somebody who still loves being hands-on, who can personally deliver our highest-value creative work while leading and developing a small team of AI-first designers.

Most importantly, we're looking for somebody who has genuinely embraced AI as part of their creative process, not simply experimented with it, and can show us how it can be used to produce outstanding work faster and at greater scale.

About the Role

Our central creative studio supports a large and growing portfolio of brands across ClearCourse. As we continue to centralise our Marketing function, we're building a lean, highly capable creative team with AI and smart ways of working at its heart.

Reporting to our Head of Marketing Enablement, you'll lead two UK-based AI Designers while taking personal ownership of the creative work that requires the greatest level of experience and judgement – including major campaigns, brand launches and high-profile projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll set the creative direction and quality bar for the wider team, but you'll remain firmly hands-on yourself. You'll also be our in-house expert for print design, alongside digital, graphic and web creative.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Personally create and deliver high-value creative across major campaigns, launches and strategic projects.
  • Use AI creative tools to increase the quality, speed and scalability of creative production.
  • Lead, coach and set the creative standard for two UK-based AI Designers.
  • Decide which work can be handled through established templates and AI-enabled BAU workflows and where senior creative input is required.
  • Own print design expertise, including production-ready artwork, colour profiles, bleed, trim and finish specifications.
  • Develop templates, workflows and guardrails that enable the wider team to operate efficiently and independently.
  • Continually explore new AI tools, techniques and workflows and bring the best of them into ClearCourse.
  • Work directly with senior stakeholders across our portfolio on significant creative briefs.

The role remains deliberately hands-on: the successful person will be judged on the quality of their own creative output as well as the standard produced by the team.

You'll ideally come from a senior creative or art direction background, potentially within a creative, advertising or branding agency where you've become accustomed to managing multiple brands, clients and briefs simultaneously.

We're particularly interested in someone who is ready to combine senior creative ownership with their first or next step into broader creative leadership.

You'll bring:

  • A strong portfolio of hands-on work across digital, graphic, web and print design.
  • Strong Adobe Creative Cloud capability and experience with AI creative tools such as Adobe Firefly or equivalent.
  • Genuine evidence of using AI as part of your everyday creative workflow to improve speed, scale or quality.
  • Strong print-production knowledge – this is an important requirement for the role.
  • The ability to remain hands-on while also coaching and developing other designers.
  • Experience creating templates, systems or creative frameworks that help teams work efficiently.
  • Confidence working directly with senior stakeholders.
  • Curiosity around emerging creative technology and a willingness to continually experiment with better ways of working.

We're not looking for AI to replace creative judgement – quite the opposite. We're looking for an experienced creative who knows when and how to use it to make great creative people even better.
