KRONEUS ZERO TRUST SECURITY is a research-driven cybersecurity organization focused on building advanced protection for agentic AI and autonomous systems. The team combines cybersecurity engineering, policy-driven controls, and intelligent threat analysis to design resilient defenses against emerging risks. Role Description
The AI & Cybersecurity Builder Intern is a full-time remote role focused on supporting the design, implementation, and testing of security controls for AI and autonomous systems. Day-to-day tasks may include researching emerging AI security threats, assisting in building and documenting zero trust architectures, and contributing to prototypes for secure agentic AI workflows. The intern will help analyze system behavior, participate in threat modeling exercises, and support the development of policies and technical safeguards that align with zero trust principles. The role also involves preparing clear technical documentation, collaborating with engineers and researchers, and contributing to internal knowledge bases and experiments.

Qualifications

- Foundational knowledge in cybersecurity concepts, including zero trust principles, network security, and secure system design.
- Understanding of AI and machine learning fundamentals, such as model behavior, data pipelines, and basic ML frameworks (e.g., Python-based tools).
- Ability to conduct structured technical research, synthesize findings, and translate complex security topics into clear written documentation.
- Basic experience with programming or scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) and familiarity with version control tools like Git.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in testing, validation, and verification of security controls.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate in a remote, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Interest in AI safety, secure engineering practices, and policy-driven governance for autonomous systems.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, data science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
