Senior Data Engineer / AI Data Architect
(Knowledge & AI Systems)
Central Manchester (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Up to £75,000 DOE + Bonus
Are you a Senior Data Engineer or Data Architect who enjoys looking at the bigger picture and shaping how data systems should work across an organisation? We’re working with a high-growth SaaS marketplace transforming the Sport & Events industry through a large-scale e-commerce platform.
As the business scales, they’re investing in the core data and knowledge layer that underpins AI, search, and intelligent automation across the organisation. This is a senior, hands-on role focused on designing the architecture, standards and foundations that allow these systems to scale safely and reliably.
You’ll take a big-picture view of Data Engineering, making sure the organisation has the right architecture, modelling, governance and engineering practices in place. You’ll act as a safety net for the data platform — identifying risks, designing for resilience and making sure the foundations are strong enough to support future AI and product development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
