About this Role
We are seeking an experienced AI and Data Architecture leader to define and govern Vodafone’s enterprise AI and Data architecture, ensuring that AI and data solutions are secure, scalable, interoperable, compliant, and reusable across markets and functions. This role acts as the architectural design authority for the AI & Data Service Tower, translating strategic priorities into a scalable architectural roadmap that accelerates delivery while maintaining resilience, trust, compliance, and long-term sustainability.
The successful candidate will lead enterprise architecture decisions across AI, data platforms, integrations, security controls, and operational guardrails, while establishing standards and reusable building blocks that help teams deliver faster and more consistently. They will also drive architecture-led innovation through research, proof of value initiatives, and supplier collaboration, ensuring innovative capabilities are adopted responsibly and industrialised effectively.
What you’ll do
- Own and define the target-state enterprise AI and Data architecture across platforms, integrations, and services.
- Act as the architectural design authority for AI and data platforms, integrations, standards, and governance guardrails.
- Establish and govern architectural standards, interoperability principles, and reusable design patterns.
- Lead the Solution Centre of Excellence (CoE), creating and maintaining reference architectures, accelerators, frameworks, and best-practice guidance.
- Enable scalable deployment of AI and data solutions across markets and functions with consistent quality, resilience, and compliance.
- Govern platform rationalisation, technology lifecycle decisions, innovation industrialisation, and platform retirement activities.
- Maintain the authoritative inventory of AI and data platforms, mapping services and use cases to maximise reuse and cost efficiency.
- Drive technical research and development through vendor evaluation, prototyping, proof of value activities, and architecture-led innovation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure alignment with strategic architecture objectives and standards.
- Promote architectural reuse, standardisation, and delivery acceleration while reducing integration complexity and technical debt.
- Support responsible innovation by balancing business value, operational stability, security, and risk management considerations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
