6 Month Contract
Salary up to 50k
This is a 6-month fixed-term contract working with an international bank and would ideally suit a fresh graduate who is proactive and keen to further develop their skills in automation and data. Minimum of 1+ years of practical experience in a Data Engineering, Business Automation, or technical analytics role.
Job Purpose
The AI and Data Engineer will be responsible for driving efficiency across the organisation by automating manual business processes and streamlining departmental reporting. The role focuses on replacing manual interventions with robust, scalable software solutions using RPA, Python, and SQL, while delivering automated, dynamic business insights through Power BI across multiple business lines.
Principal Accountabilities and Duties
- Process Automation: Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end automation workflows to eliminate manual, repetitive operational tasks using Python and RPA frameworks.
- Reporting Automation: Architect and automate reporting data pipelines to replace manual spreadsheets, delivering automated dashboards via Power BI for various departments and business lines.
- Data Pipeline Engineering: Write efficient, clean SQL scripts and Python code to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from diverse source systems into reporting databases.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with multiple business lines to analyse existing manual processes, map data flows, and translate business needs into technical automation requirements.
- Maintenance & Support: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing automated workflows and reports to ensure data accuracy and high system availability.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of practical experience in a Data Engineering, Business Automation, or technical analytics role.
- Core Programming: Proficient in Python for script writing, process automation, and data manipulation.
- Database & Queries: Strong competence in SQL for relational database querying, data extraction, and structural optimization.
- Automation Stack: Practical experience working with RPA (Robotic Process Automation) software (e.g., Automation Anywhere).
- Business Intelligence: Hands-on experience developing, publishing, and automating analytical dashboards using Power BI.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience).
