Role Description
AI Delivery Lead (Forward Deployed Engineer)
We're hiring, and this isn't the usual corporate advert. We're Arkheia. We build AI systems that transform how businesses work, in the time it used to take to write the project plan. The platform works, clients are live, and with a growing pipeline, we're hiring now for someone to help us deliver it.
We read every reply ourselves, as long as it gets past eight filters and a small test at the end. If you get through all eight, we really want to hear from you.
- You live within a sensible journey of our clients, who are mostly spread from Manchester down through the Midlands to London and the South. It's hybrid, but we want to be able to sit down with you, and with clients, and a four-hour trek for a 45-minute meeting won't cut it. Travel will be needed: not all the time, but the world is our oyster, so be ready.
- You've delivered implementations for customers: post-sales, onboarding, customer success engineering, solutions or forward-deployed engineering, inside a software company or not. Or you're newer to all this, but you've spent the last six months building real things with AI agents and you simply get it. It doesn't have to be for a paying customer: a system your school, club or community actually uses counts, if you tested it and people rely on it. You'll need some polish and shoe leather, and we'll help with both.
- You think AI is fun, and it shows. You use it every day, and you're excited that we can transform business workflows in the sort of time normally associated with waving a magic wand. Nobody has charted this territory yet, us included, and that's exactly what makes it exciting. We want people who are bouncing off the walls about what's possible, yet measured enough to test it before they promise it. You can't teach enthusiasm. We'll happily cultivate yours, but you have to bring it.
- You believe in doing things in the right order: gates, tests and sign-off, because skipping them is how you get bad product. You understand how software is built and shipped well enough to investigate a failure, challenge what an AI produced, weigh the test evidence, and know when to escalate. Whether you write code every day matters much less. And if you've spent years being the calm one in the room when a client is unhappy, that counts for a lot here.
- You know how much data protection and security matter, without needing to know how to hack.
- You can speak human as well as technology. Our clients are clever people who aren't always technical (though some are). They need to trust you, and they need it to just work. That's on you.
- You like finishing things. Taking a customer's problem, getting it fixed, and hearing them say "that's sorted" is what gets you out of bed.
- You have the right to work in the UK, and you're happy with a business-hours job. No on-call, no 3am pages.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
We won't discriminate on age, in either direction, or on race, gender, background or anything else. We care about what you can do and how you think.
What you'll do
Take a design and spot what won't work before the client does. Agree with the client what "done" means, and keep the scope under control. Drive AI tools to configure, test and deploy it, then own the loop until the client has accepted it (their questions, fixes and sign-off). Tell us, and the client, when something needs rethinking, with the evidence and a proposed fix. You'll work directly with the founder.
How we work
Small team, big output. AI agents do the volume: configuring, building, first-line triage. People do the judgement: deciding how it should work, looking after the client, and signing it off. We measure delivery, not hours.
A great week is a client saying "that's sorted", not a full timesheet. It's full-time, about 37.5 hours a week, and very flexible: if you need to do the school run, do it. The work can wait; do it later, but do it. You'll also work with something we believe no one else has: non-semantic hallucination detection at inference time. Sorry for the technobabble, but it's pretty awesome, and we've barely started taking it to market.
What else to expect
Your first three months: you'll start by delivering work the founder has shaped with the client, alongside them, with the aim that you run it end to end. Carry one client implementation through testing, acceptance and handover, and leave behind a process the next one can reuse. You're about to learn a lot, very fast, and it won't slow down. Before long, we hope you'll be the one driving what's new: new ideas, and new ways of uncovering, showing and building what's possible that no one has thought of yet. The possibilities are endless, and we don't have all the answers. The next big idea could just as easily be yours.

No pool table, no table tennis. We do meet in person every few weeks, because we protect our investment, and that includes you.
Pay
It's about building a future, and paying the bills in the meantime. Base salary depends on what you've delivered and the responsibility you take on, not your age or your CV: from £30,000 a year if you're starting out but have already built and rolled out something real, up to £80,000 a year (or £450–£650 a day on contract) if you've spent years turning difficult clients into happy ones. On top of that, a bonus scheme linked to client sign-off, and we intend to offer share options as we grow.
To apply
Message us directly on LinkedIn, or email dmurfet@arkheia.ai if you'd rather apply another way or need any adjustments. Don't send a CV; send us something that shows how you think, in under 400 words:
- Something you actually delivered: what your part was, what went wrong, and how you knew it worked in the end.
- One process you've seen at work that's slow, painful or manual, the kind of thing that makes people sigh: how you'd transform it with AI, and what could go wrong if you got it wrong.
Using AI to help is fine, encouraged even: show us the prompt and tell us what you changed. That part tells us more than the rest, and if we meet, we'll ask you to talk us through it. Leave out anything confidential from your employer or clients, including in any prompts you share. We'll handle your application as set out in our privacy notice at arkheia.ai/privacy.
It isn't a test of how clever you are. It's a test of whether you'll think something through and finish it.
It's early, the upside is genuinely big if we get it right, and so far, the signs are all good.
One last thing, and only for those who made it this far: start your note with X-19, then tell us which of filters 2 to 7 was the hardest for you, and why. With X-19, we promise to read every word.
