Part of the global leader Bain & Company, Proxima
Proxima is a well-established and leading management consulting firm specialising in procurement currently with offices in London, Leeds, Cardiff, Dusseldorf and Chicago.
At Proxima, we help leading brands and public sector organisations unlock value, strengthen supplier relationships, and build sustainable supply chains. We're proud of our open, collaborative, and people-focused culture, empowering our people to innovate, challenge the status quo, and grow their careers with us.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly established AI function at the start of its journey. As part of Proxima's wider investment in AI and digital innovation, you'll play a key role in shaping new products and capabilities that will have a real impact across the business. Based in our Cardiff office with a hybrid working model, you'll work closely with colleagues across the UK and internationally, gaining exposure to emerging technologies while helping to build and scale a growing capability. With strong momentum behind the programme and significant opportunities for development, this role offers the chance to be part of something new and make a meaningful contribution from day one.
Role Overview
AI Developers build the AI products on Proxima's Azure-based platform. The role is full stack with AI-first thinking - front-end, back-end, prompts, integrations, and everything in between.
We’re looking for an experienced developer who can slot in and deliver quickly, who brings fresh perspectives and challenges the team's defaults.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Comfortable using AI coding assistants as part of your workflow.

- Less experience required, but the bar on attitude, curiosity, and pace is high.
- Comfortable with modern dev workflow - Git, code review, CI/CD, agile in Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of API design and integration patterns.
- Pragmatic on build-vs-buy at feature level.
