About The Role
Take the first step in your technical career as a Junior AI Developer, working with experienced consultants to build practical AI solutions for clients across the public and private sectors. This role offers an exciting opportunity for recent graduates or those with a foundational understanding of AI and data handling to develop their skills in a dynamic environment. The position is primarily home-based, with requirements to work in Birmingham City Centre a few times a month as needed. The role provides a competitive salary of £25,000 per annum, with standard working hours from Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, offering some flexibility when on-site.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have recently graduated or be about to graduate in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Data Science, or related disciplines. A strong technical foundation in core AI and Machine Learning concepts, including familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), is essential. Practical experience with Git, Python, and SQL—whether through academic projects, personal initiatives, or internships—is highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate a genuine interest in exploring AI beyond coursework, such as participating in hackathons, contributing to GitHub repositories, or experimenting with AI tools independently. Exposure to additional technologies like PostgreSQL, Linux, Java, JavaScript, APIs, or Cloud Computing platforms (Azure, GCP) is considered a plus. Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to communicate technical ideas clearly, and a collaborative mindset are also important traits for success in this role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
