AI Developer / Data Engineer — Microsoft Stack (Training Towards Data Engineering)
Location: On-site, Cumbernauld. This is not a remote role — you'll need to be able to travel to and work from our Cumbernauld location.
Amesium Analytics is a UK-based Azure & Data Consultancy working across Microsoft Fabric, the Azure Data Platform, Synapse, Databricks, and Power BI. We're looking for a developer who's comfortable using AI to move fast across a genuine mix of work — client delivery, marketing automation, our own internal tools, and other active projects (including a Unity-based simulation build).
Core Requirement
You need to already know how to code. At least one language, Python preferred. What's different about this role is what you do with that: you'll use AI to extend beyond your own stack, tackling tasks and technologies outside what you already know, rather than staying in one lane.
We also want to see a track record, not just a claim. Show us a project — personal, freelance, open source, coursework, whatever — where you used AI to build, fix, or ship something real. Links, a repo, a rough demo, anything you've got.

Training towards becoming a Microsoft-stack data engineer
This isn't just "figure it out" — you'll get real, hands-on tasks aimed specifically at building your Microsoft stack skills (Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory/Synapse, Power BI) over time, with proper mentorship, alongside the AI-first, varied work below.
How you'll work
This is a genuinely AI-first role. You'll move fluidly between different AI tools — coding assistants, automation/agent platforms, whatever fits — rather than leaning on just one. One day that's using AI to scaffold a data pipeline, the next it's automating a marketing workflow or debugging a Unity script with AI's help. What matters most is being comfortable switching between tools, using each one well, and knowing when to double-check its output rather than trust it blindly.
What you'll actually work on
Client Azure/data delivery, marketing automation (automated review-request systems, growth tooling), our own internal tools, and other active projects (including a Unity-based simulation build) — a genuinely varied mix, guided day to day, with real mentorship as you build capability.

Skills
- Programming — at least one language, Python preferred, required
- Microsoft stack (Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory/Synapse, Power BI, C#, SQL) — trained into, bonus not requirement
- Genuinely dynamic switching between AI tools, central to the role
Pay
- Starts at £15.00/hour
- Up to ~£29,250/yr equivalent at full-time hours (actual hours vary)
- Reviewed periodically as you take on more
Hours
- Flexible, zero-hours basis — work offered as it comes in, free to take other work alongside this
- On-site in Cumbernauld when working
