Launch Your Consulting Career with UBDS
At UBDS, we're building the next generation of consultants—professionals who use AI to think smarter, solve problems faster and deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.
About Our AI Enabled Consultant Programme
Our AI Enabled Consultant Programme is designed for graduates and early-career professionals who are excited by technology, passionate about solving business challenges and ready to build a career in modern consulting.
Over an immersive 6 to 8-week Programme, you'll develop the core consulting skills needed to succeed while learning how to use AI safely, responsibly and effectively as part of your everyday consulting toolkit.
This is not a software engineering, data science or AI development role.
Instead, we're looking for future consultants who are technology and AI native—people who naturally embrace digital tools, are curious about emerging technologies and are excited by the opportunity to embed AI into the way they think, collaborate and deliver for clients. You'll learn how to use AI to enhance your productivity, strengthen your analysis and help deliver better project outcomes, while recognising that human judgement, creativity and relationship-building remain at the heart of great consulting.
The Programme is only the beginning. At UBDS, continuous learning is part of our culture. As technology and AI continue to evolve, so will you. Through ongoing professional development, mentoring, certifications, hands-on project experience and access to the latest AI tools and methodologies, you'll continue developing throughout your consulting career.
What You'll Experience
Our Programme combines structured learning, practical workshops and real project experience, giving you a strong foundation for a successful consulting career.
You'll develop experience in:
- Business Analysis
- Consulting and structured problem solving
- Project Delivery
- Service Design
- Stakeholder Management
- Digital Transformation
- Communication and presentation skills
Alongside these core consulting capabilities, you'll learn how to:
- Use AI to accelerate research, analysis and problem solving.
- Generate insights from information and data.
- Improve the quality and efficiency of client deliverables.
- Enhance collaboration and productivity.
- Apply AI responsibly, ethically and securely within consulting engagements.
- Continuously adopt new AI capabilities as they emerge.
Working alongside experienced consultants, you'll gain exposure to real client challenges while developing the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly AI-enabled consulting profession.
What Success Looks Like
As an AI Enabled Consultant, you won't be expected to build AI models or develop AI products.
Instead, you'll become a consultant who confidently uses AI to enhance every stage of the consulting lifecycle—from research and analysis to solution design, delivery and client engagement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll learn how to:
- Solve complex business challenges.
- Deliver projects more effectively.
- Create greater value for clients.
- Improve the quality and speed of your work.
- Focus more time on critical thinking, collaboration and innovation.
The consultants who will thrive in the future won't simply understand AI—they'll know when, where and how to use it to achieve better outcomes.

- Be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC). This typically requires you to have lived in the UK continuously for the last five years, although each application is assessed individually.
- Be willing to spend time working from our London or Manchester offices, as well as travelling to client sites when required. We believe the best learning comes through collaboration, coaching and working alongside experienced consultants and our clients.
