Hybrid - 2 days pw onsite
£100,000 - £125,000 + benefits
We are partnering with a global leading financial services company in their search for an AI Engineer to design, build and deploy production-ready Generative AI solutions.
This is a hands-on role focused on turning AI concepts into scalable business solutions, working with Python, GCP, Vertex AI, OpenAI and Anthropic Claude.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and deploy GenAI applications including RAG, chatbots, copilots and document intelligence.
- Develop LLM workflows and integrations using OpenAI and/or Claude APIs.
- Build solutions on GCP, including Vertex AI, BigQuery and Cloud Run.
- Work with structured/unstructured data, embeddings, vector databases and semantic search.
- Implement CI/CD, monitoring, testing and production controls.
- Ensure solutions meet Responsible AI, GDPR, security and regulatory requirements.
- Work with Technology, Data Risk and Compliance teams to deliver practical AI solutions.

What you will bring
- Proven experience delivering AI/GenAI solutions into production.
- Strong Python development experience (production-grade code).
- Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ideally Vertex AI.
- Hands-on experience with ChatGPT / OpenAI APIs and/or Anthropic Claude.
- Experience integrating AI services via APIs and building backend services.
- Familiarity with modern software engineering practices (version control, testing, CI/CD).
- Generative AI & LLMs
- Practical experience with prompt engineering, system prompts and evaluation techniques.
- Experience implementing RAG architectures, vector databases, and semantic search.
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data
- Financial services experience (highly desirable) or experience working in a regulated environment.
- Pragmatic problem-solver focused on business value, not just models.
- Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach.
