About The Role
We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join our client’s innovative team on a contract basis. This role involves designing, developing, and deploying advanced AI applications and machine learning solutions tailored to the retail sector. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building scalable, reliable, and production-ready AI systems that support the company's strategic objectives. You will work closely with data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to translate complex data insights into actionable AI-driven products. The role requires a deep understanding of AI technologies, cloud platforms, and software engineering best practices to ensure optimal performance and scalability of AI solutions.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in AI and machine learning, with proven experience in deploying AI applications in a commercial environment. Advanced proficiency in Python programming is essential, along with hands-on experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI frameworks. Knowledge of prompt engineering techniques and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly desirable. Familiarity with APIs, containerization technologies, and deployment pipelines is necessary to ensure seamless integration and scalable deployment of AI solutions. Strong problem-solving skills, coupled with effective communication abilities, are critical for collaborating with cross-functional teams and explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy innovative AI applications and machine learning models that address business needs within the retail sector.
- Build and maintain scalable AI pipelines and production-ready systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI technologies to create advanced solutions for customer engagement and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver AI-driven products that deliver measurable business value.
- Optimize the performance, reliability, and scalability of AI applications through continuous testing and iteration.
- Support the development and implementation of AI engineering best practices, deployment processes, and documentation standards.
