AI Engineer | Remote (UK) | c.£40–45k + bonus
Plenty of data scientists build models that never get used. This role is about the ones that do. I’m hiring for a small, specialist AI company that’s growing fast. Their job is to turn AI ideas into tools people actually use, for a varied mix of clients. Some of those projects make a real difference beyond the bottom line. They’re also developing products of their own, and whoever joins will have a hand in those as well.
The role
You’ll own work from the first look at the data through to something live and in use. That means:
- Digging into data, building models, and being honest about whether they work
- Designing GenAI solutions with LLMs and retrieval, and testing them properly so they hold up in real use
- Doing the engineering that gets your work out of a notebook: clean Python, APIs, containers and the cloud
- Talking to clients directly, understanding what they need, and explaining your results in plain English
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The team is small, so you’ll get plenty of trust and very little red tape.
You’ll probably have
- Around two or more years of commercial experience working with Python and data

- Solid SQL and good engineering habits: version control, testable code, and APIs (FastAPI or similar)
- Some time working in Azure, AWS or GCP, and with Docker
- A way of working that already includes AI coding assistants
