Manchester / Hybrid
About the Role
Our client is embarking on an exciting technology transformation, building a new in-house technology platform for a substantial property portfolio, with Artificial Intelligence and automation at the heart of the solution.
They already have an experienced development and data team with strong capabilities across software engineering, automation, CRM, property management systems and data. They are now looking for an AI Engineer with genuine Agentic AI experience to bring specialist expertise into the team and help shape the next generation of their technology.
This is an opportunity to join at an early stage and have a significant influence over how AI is designed, developed and embedded across the business.
The Role
You will be the specialist AI voice within a relatively lean, highly capable technology team, working alongside experienced developers and data specialists.
Your focus will be on identifying opportunities where AI and agentic automation can deliver genuine business value, then designing and building solutions that can operate within the company's wider technology ecosystem.
You will be involved in:
- Designing and developing AI agents and agentic workflows
- Building LLM-powered applications and automation
- Integrating AI with existing CRM, PMS, databases, APIs and internal systems
- Developing AI solutions that can reason, retrieve information, make decisions and take actions
- Working with business data to develop intelligent applications and automation
- Developing RAG, vector search, embeddings and knowledge-based AI solutions
- Evaluating new LLMs, AI frameworks and emerging technologies
- Taking AI concepts from initial idea through to production
- Working closely with existing software engineers and data specialists
- Challenging existing approaches and helping shape the overall AI architecture
- Identifying new opportunities to automate and improve operational processes

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You
We're looking for someone who has genuine commercial experience building AI solutions, rather than someone who has simply experimented with ChatGPT or integrated an LLM API.
You may have a background as an AI Engineer, Generative AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, Software Engineer or AI Solutions Engineer, but you will have developed a strong practical understanding of modern Agentic AI.
You should have experience with several of the following:
- Agentic AI / AI Agents
- LLM application development
- OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini or similar
- LLM orchestration and tool/function calling
- RAG and retrieval-based AI
- Vector databases and embeddings
- AI workflow automation
- Python, C# and/or TypeScript
- APIs and system integration
- SQL/databases
- Cloud platforms, particularly Azure
- Frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen or similar
Most importantly, you will be someone who understands how to turn AI capabilities into robust, commercially useful software.
The Person
This role will suit someone who enjoys working with a high degree of autonomy and wants to make a genuine impact.

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
You'll be expected to bring your own ideas, challenge thinking and work collaboratively with an established technical team. You won't be joining a large AI department with everything already defined – you'll have the opportunity to help build the AI capability from the ground up.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Technically strong and hands-on
- Commercially minded and focused on solving real problems
- Naturally curious about emerging AI technologies
- Comfortable challenging and influencing other technical specialists
- Able to work independently without a large team around them
- Pragmatic rather than focused on technology for technology's sake
- Comfortable operating in an environment where priorities and technology are evolving
Why Join?
This is a rare opportunity to join a business that is building AI into its technology strategy from the outset, rather than retrofitting AI onto legacy systems.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Own and influence the company's Agentic AI capability
- Work with experienced software and data professionals
- Build production AI solutions rather than proof-of-concepts
- Work with significant volumes of real-world property and operational data
- Influence technology and architecture decisions
- Help determine how AI is used across the organisation
- Develop solutions with genuine commercial impact
If you're an AI Engineer who wants to build, experiment, challenge the status quo and help shape an AI-first technology platform, we'd like to hear from you.
