About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead AI Engineer to join our Workday Practice at Kainos. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a bridge between data science and software engineering, focusing on the productionization of AI and machine learning solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with data scientists, software developers, and product teams to develop, deploy, and maintain scalable AI models that enhance our Workday offerings. This role requires a strong technical background combined with excellent collaboration skills to ensure seamless integration of AI capabilities into enterprise systems. You will be instrumental in optimizing AI model performance, ensuring reliability, and delivering innovative solutions that meet client needs and business objectives.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in software development, with proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Proven track record in deploying AI/ML models into production environments, with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Familiarity with MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, and monitoring.
- Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, utilizing native AI tools such as SageMaker, Vertex AI, or Azure ML Studio.
- Expertise in containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Strong skills in data engineering, including building data pipelines and integrating AI solutions with enterprise data systems.
- Background in agile development methodologies and excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Preferred candidates will hold an MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related fields, and have experience with Workday APIs and large language models.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable AI and machine learning models that address client needs and enhance Workday solutions.
- Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams to integrate AI models into production systems seamlessly.
- Optimize AI model performance through continuous monitoring, tuning, and maintenance to ensure high reliability and efficiency.
- Implement MLOps best practices, including setting up CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, and automated testing.
- Build and manage data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and storage, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Utilize cloud-native AI tools and services to design and deploy cloud-based AI solutions.
- Lead technical discussions, provide mentorship to team members, and contribute to the development of best practices within the team.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, applying innovative techniques to solve complex problems.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, contribute to project planning, and deliver high-quality solutions within deadlines.
