As an AI Engineer at Manager level in our Data and AI Studio, you’ll lead the engineering of robust AI-enabled products and help turn ideas and prototypes into secure, scalable solutions. You’ll combine hands-on technical expertise with delivery leadership, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to translate needs into practical outcomes. The role offers breadth across AI, software and cloud engineering, analytics and automation, with opportunities to learn and shape emerging approaches.

These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most.

Our Tax and Legal Digital Innovation team is expanding its data and artificial intelligence capabilities. The Data and AI Studio researches, builds and delivers analytics and AI-enabled solutions that improve how we serve clients and operate our business. As a Manager, you’ll help identify valuable opportunities, lead delivery from discovery through to production and contribute to the continued development of our technical capability.

We welcome conversations about formal and informal flexible working arrangements that help our people and clients achieve the best outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with tax, legal, industry and technology specialists to understand client and business needs, define outcomes and translate them into clear technical requirements.
  • Lead the design, development, documentation and technical delivery of analytics, automation and AI solutions that improve efficiency, quality and decision-making.
  • Establish reliable data foundations by sourcing, preparing and validating structured and unstructured data, while addressing quality, lineage and integrity issues.

  • Set and promote high engineering standards for maintainable code, testing, documentation, deployment and monitoring across local and cloud environments.
  • Shape and assess new AI engineering and automation opportunities, balancing user value, technical feasibility, responsible AI considerations and delivery risk.
  • Own the progression of AI and data science solutions from proof of concept to secure, scalable and supportable production services.
  • Design, deploy, monitor and troubleshoot application programming interfaces (APIs) and related services, improving reliability and performance over time.
  • Provide technical direction, constructive review and coaching to colleagues, while building trusted relationships and contributing to a collaborative, inclusive team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
