AI Engineer
Make the Connection.
At Vix Technology, we're transforming the way millions of people move around the world.
Our technology powers public transport systems in more than 200 cities worldwide, helping operators deliver smarter, more connected journeys. But we're just as passionate about transforming how we work.
Artificial Intelligence is changing every part of modern business. We're not interested in experimenting for experimentation's sake—we're focused on using AI to solve real business problems, improve productivity and create better experiences for our employees and customers.
That's where you come in.
We're looking for an AI Engineer to help shape the future of AI at Vix. This is an opportunity to build the internal AI capability of a global technology company from the ground up, working across every business function to identify opportunities, develop intelligent applications and embed AI into the way we work every day.
If you're excited by rapidly evolving technology, love building practical solutions and want your work to have visible impact across an entire organisation, we'd love to meet you.
The Opportunity
As our AI Engineer, you'll be responsible for accelerating AI adoption across Vix.
You'll partner with teams across Engineering, Product, Finance, HR, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success and Operations to understand how they work today—and design AI-powered solutions that help them work smarter tomorrow.
You'll build an internal suite of AI applications, copilots and automations that eliminate repetitive work, improve decision-making and unlock new ways of working. Some solutions may leverage commercial AI platforms, while others will be custom-built using modern LLM frameworks, APIs and cloud technologies.
This isn't a research role.
It's about taking great ideas and turning them into production-ready tools that people genuinely enjoy using.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll become the organisation's technical expert on AI, helping define best practice, evaluate emerging technologies and ensure AI is deployed responsibly, securely and effectively.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll spend your time identifying opportunities where AI can make the biggest difference and rapidly turning those ideas into working solutions.
That might include:
- Building internal AI applications that improve productivity across every business function.
- Developing intelligent copilots, knowledge assistants, workflow automations and decision-support tools.
- Integrating leading AI models and services into existing business systems and applications.
- Creating secure Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using Vix knowledge and documentation.
- Designing prompt engineering frameworks and reusable AI components.
- Working closely with software engineers to integrate AI capabilities into existing platforms and products where appropriate.
- Exploring agentic AI, orchestration frameworks and workflow automation to solve complex business challenges.
- Helping establish governance, security and responsible AI practices across the organisation.
- Staying ahead of the rapidly changing AI landscape and bringing new ideas back into the business.
- Coaching colleagues on how to use AI effectively and helping build a culture of experimentation and continuous learning.
About You
You're someone who loves building things.
You enjoy taking an idea from a conversation to a working prototype and then refining it into something people rely on every day.
You're naturally curious, constantly exploring new AI capabilities and excited about how emerging technologies can improve businesses.
You balance technical depth with commercial thinking—you don't just ask "Can we build this?" but "Should we?" and "Will it make a difference?"
You're comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and can explain complex AI concepts in plain English.

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
Most importantly, you're motivated by impact rather than hype.
What You'll Bring
We're open to different backgrounds, but you'll likely have experience with many of the following:
- Building applications using modern Large Language Models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini or open-source alternatives).
- Python and modern software engineering practices.
- AI APIs, SDKs and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex or similar.
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases and semantic search.
- AI agents, workflow automation and orchestration.
- Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
- REST APIs and integration with enterprise applications.
- Prompt engineering, evaluation and optimisation.
- Git, CI/CD and deploying production applications.
- Understanding of AI governance, security, privacy and responsible AI principles.
Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, AWS Bedrock, Model Context Protocol (MCP), knowledge graphs or enterprise search technologies would be an advantage—but isn't essential.
Why Join Vix?
This is an opportunity to shape the future of AI within a global technology company.
Rather than joining an established AI team, you'll play a leading role in defining how AI is adopted across the organisation. Your work will influence every department, every employee and, ultimately, how we deliver better solutions for our customers.
You'll have the freedom to experiment, the support to innovate and the opportunity to build AI capabilities that genuinely transform the business.
If you're excited by solving meaningful problems with AI—and want to help create one of the most AI-enabled businesses in our industry—we'd love to hear from you.
Make the Connection. Build the Future.
