AI Engineer – 6-Month Contract - SC Cleared
Location: Mainly remote, some travel to client sites
Contract: Six months
Rate: Depending on experience (Inside IR35)
Start date: ASAP
Please note: Applicants must currently hold valid and active SC clearance.
We’re looking for an experienced AI Engineer to join an innovative project on an initial six-month contract.
You’ll design and develop production-ready AI solutions, combining Python-based AI engineering with existing.NET applications. The role will focus on building agentic workflows and retrieval-augmented generation systems using LangGraph, Azure and modern software engineering practices.

- Design and build scalable AI applications and services
- Develop agentic workflows using LangGraph
- Implement and optimise RAG architectures
- Integrate AI capabilities with existing.NET systems
- Build clean, reliable and maintainable Python services
- Deploy and operate solutions within Azure
- Collaborate with engineering, data and product teams
- Apply robust testing, security and monitoring practices
Essential experience:
- Strong commercial AI engineering experience
- Advanced Python software development skills
- Hands-on experience with LangGraph
- Proven experience designing and delivering RAG solutions
- Strong knowledge of Azure services and cloud architecture
- Experience developing or integrating with .NET applications
- A solid understanding of production software engineering principles

Desirable experience:
- Large language models and prompt engineering
- Vector databases, embeddings and semantic search
- Azure AI Search or Azure OpenAI Service
- API and microservices development
- CI/CD, containerisation and infrastructure as code
- Evaluation and observability for production AI systems
