AI Engineer
Love AI? Brilliant. We want someone who's actually building with it.
AI is moving fast. We're looking for someone who wants to move with it.
At ECA, we're building AI-powered capabilities into our global mobility technology, and we're looking for a curious, hands-on AI Engineer to help us take things further.
This isn't a role where you'll spend your days experimenting with AI concepts that never see the light of day. You'll be building real AI features, working with the latest models and tools, and helping us bring intelligent solutions into production.
From RAG pipelines and agentic workflows to AWS Bedrock and Claude Code, you'll have the opportunity to work with some of the most exciting technologies in AI engineering.
You'll join a collaborative, Agile engineering team where experimentation is encouraged, ideas are welcomed and you'll have plenty of opportunities to develop your skills.
If you're already building with AI, constantly exploring what's next and excited about turning emerging technology into something genuinely useful, we'd love to hear from you.
What will you be doing?
Quite a lot of interesting stuff, actually.
- Building real AI solutions: Design, develop and deliver AI-powered features using technologies such as Claude, OpenAI, Gemini and open-weight models
- Making RAG work: Build and improve retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, working with embeddings, vector databases and retrieval techniques to deliver reliable results
- Exploring agentic AI: Help develop intelligent agents and workflows using AWS Bedrock, with opportunities to work with AgentCore and agent orchestration frameworks
- Working AI-first: Use Claude Code as part of your everyday engineering workflow, helping us develop smarter ways of designing, building and delivering software
- Making AI better: Evaluate and monitor AI performance, identifying opportunities to improve quality, reliability, speed and cost
- Building responsibly: Help ensure our AI solutions are secure, trustworthy and developed with appropriate governance, privacy and safeguards
- Collaborating and innovating: Work closely with engineers, product teams and other specialists to turn ideas into working solutions

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
