About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer / Developer with expertise in Python and Large Language Models (LLMs) to join our client’s innovative team in London. This role offers the flexibility of remote work, with the option to work from home once a week, and is ideal for someone eager to work on cutting-edge AI systems that address real-world challenges. As part of a well-established AI company functioning as a tech incubator within the World Economic Forum, you will contribute to projects that tackle pressing issues such as climate change, AI adoption, and advanced battery technology.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Developing backend code, APIs, and prompt engineering solutions focused on LLMs.
- Collaborating closely with the Technical Architect to design and implement robust, high-performance solutions that transform AI models into practical, commercially valuable products.
- Building and deploying intelligent agents capable of automating complex tasks.
- Integrating tools like Claude and ChatGPT into seamless workflows.
- Optimizing their performance for real-world applications.

Qualifications
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of a 2.1 classification from a top-tier university.
- Strong proficiency in Python programming, with experience across the full development lifecycle, including testing and deployment.
- Hands-on experience in building AI agents or automating business processes using agentic technologies.
- Proficiency in designing and working with JSON-based REST APIs.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably AWS, and experience with CI/CD practices.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, Agile methodologies, and version control systems.
- Experience interfacing with database systems, ideally Neo4J or other graph databases.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Passion for emerging AI technologies and a continuous learning mindset to stay updated with the latest industry innovations.
- Proactive problem-solving skills combined with commercial awareness and a keen interest in start-up environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend code and APIs to support AI-driven applications and services.
- Design, implement, and optimize prompt engineering strategies for large language models such as ChatGPT and Claude.
- Build and deploy intelligent agents capable of performing practical, business-critical tasks.
- Collaborate with the Technical Architect to develop scalable, robust AI solutions aligned with project goals.
- Integrate AI tools into existing workflows, ensuring seamless operation and usability.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to enhance AI system efficiency and reliability.
- Engage in continuous learning to incorporate the latest AI advancements into ongoing projects.
- Participate in Agile development cycles, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, product managers, and software engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Document technical specifications and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
