🚀 AI Engineer – Enterprise Knowledge Base (EKB)
📍 Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Birmingham or Edinburgh – Hybrid (2-days per week onsite)
💰 £800 per day – Inside IR35
📅 6-month contract initially – strong potential for extension

I’m currently looking for an experienced AI Engineer to join a major greenfield Enterprise Knowledge Base (EKB) programme within a leading UK banking organisation.
This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to help build an enterprise-scale AI platform from the ground up, connecting data and knowledge from platforms including Confluence, Jira, ServiceNow, Teams and other enterprise sources.
🔧 What you’ll be working on:
- Building enterprise Generative AI / LLM solutions
- Developing RAG pipelines using embeddings and vector databases
- Building and integrating AI Agents / Agentic AI
- Prompt Engineering and Context Engineering, with a strong focus on optimisation and cost
- Developing AI-powered knowledge discovery and retrieval capabilities
- Building ingestion and data pipelines for enterprise knowledge
- Working primarily with Python, SQL, Git and GCP
- Integrating enterprise platforms through REST APIs
- Contributing to architecture, technical spikes and target-state design
- Testing and evaluating AI solutions for performance, reliability and safety

🧠 Key experience:
- Strong Python development
- Generative AI / LLMs / NLP
- Prompt Engineering – essential
- RAG, embeddings and vector databases
- AI Agents / Agentic AI
- REST APIs, SQL & Git
- GCP or another major cloud platform
- Experience taking AI solutions from prototype through to production
⭐ Desirable:
- LangChain, LangGraph, MCP, Knowledge Graphs, Semantic Search, Responsible AI, AI Evals, re-ranking and caching.
- LangGraph isn't essential — candidates with strong LangChain/RAG/Agentic AI experience and the right engineering mindset will be considered.
