The Role
We are looking for an AI Engineering Intern who wants to work on real models, real data, and real AI systems. You will support the development of AI used across our portfolio companies, including machine learning models, training pipelines, data systems, and intelligent applications.
This is not an internship built around theoretical exercises. You will contribute directly to AI systems that support active companies and operational teams. Depending on the project, you may help take a model from an initial idea through training, evaluation, deployment, and improvement in production.
What You Could Be Building
Your work may include:
- Building and fine-tuning machine learning models for production use
- Designing and maintaining data pipelines and model training workflows
- Integrating AI models into applications, APIs, and backend services
- Debugging model performance issues and improving accuracy and reliability
- Working with large language models, embeddings, retrieval systems, and agent architectures
- Testing AI features and supporting deployment into production environments

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
