This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AI-first QA Engineer based in the United Kingdom.
This role offers the opportunity to redefine quality assurance practices in an AI-driven technology environment.
You will help build reliable, scalable products by combining advanced testing methodologies with AI-powered workflows.
The position focuses on automation, quality strategy, and continuous improvement throughout the software development lifecycle.
You will collaborate with engineering teams to embed quality from the earliest stages of development and delivery.
By leveraging modern tools and innovative approaches, you will improve testing efficiency, product reliability, and team productivity.

Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain automated testing solutions that improve product quality and increase confidence throughout the development lifecycle.
- Define and execute automation strategies based on product risks, scalability needs, and long-term quality objectives.
- Analyze existing QA processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement initiatives that enhance testing effectiveness.
- Design comprehensive test coverage using advanced test analysis techniques across different testing layers, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Build, maintain, and improve automation frameworks and QA tools to ensure they remain reliable, scalable, and easy to use.
- Use AI-powered tools daily to accelerate problem-solving, improve test design, enhance reporting, and increase engineering productivity.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to integrate quality practices early in the development process.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, refinement sessions, and QA sign-off processes.
- Take ownership of quality responsibilities within assigned product areas and drive continuous improvements.
- Mentor team members, share QA expertise, and promote best practices across engineering teams.

Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in QA automation with proven experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated testing solutions.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test planning, prioritization, documentation, and test design principles.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright and familiarity with Selenium or similar automation frameworks.
- Strong programming skills in TypeScript or another object-oriented programming language, with Python experience considered a plus.
- Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks and improving QA processes within software development teams.
- Ability to use AI tools effectively to improve productivity across test creation, automation, analysis, and reporting workflows.
- Experience with REST API testing tools such as Postman, REST-assured, or Playwright API testing.
- Understanding of different testing layers, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing approaches.
- Familiarity with QA tools such as Allure and TestRail.
- Experience using Git and understanding of branching strategies and merge request workflows; knowledge of GitLab CI/CD is a plus.
- Awareness of load and performance testing tools such as Locust or K6 is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and take ownership from planning through completion.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken.
