About Foundermatcha

Foundermatcha matches startup founders with technical co-founders and founding engineers, using conversational AI instead of forms. New users talk to a voice or text agent that builds their profile. A matching engine pairs them. A Concierge assistant then stays with them to set up calls, follow up on matches and surface insights.

The product is live on iOS, Android and the web, and we run it at in-person founder events too. It is built by a small team, so interns ship code that real users touch in their first weeks.

The role

We are hiring AI & Full Stack Developer Interns who will take features from end to end, across every layer. In a single week you might change an agent's prompt and tools in Python, add the backend route that serves it, and build the screen in Flutter or React that shows the result.

You will not be put in one corner of the codebase. Our features cut across the mobile app, the web app, the admin panel, the AI backend and Firebase, so we need people who are comfortable working in all of them, and who learn quickly in the parts they don't know yet.

Our stack

You don't need to know all of this on day one. You will touch most of it by the end of the internship.

  • AI backend (voice and text agents, matching, Concierge, background jobs): Python, Flask, LangGraph, OpenAI Realtime API, Anthropic and OpenRouter models, taskiq + Redis
  • Mobile app (the main product on iOS and Android): Flutter, Dart, Riverpod, go_router, fpdart, Clean Architecture + MVVM
  • Web app (onboarding and the full product in the browser): Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
  • Admin panel (internal tools for the team and event organisers): React, Vite, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
  • Serverless (triggers, scheduled jobs, payments, notifications): Firebase Cloud Functions in TypeScript
  • Data and auth (one source of truth for every client): Firestore, Firebase Auth, Storage, security rules
  • Integrations (calls, payments, email, push): Zego Cloud for video, Stripe, Resend, FCM
  • Infra and testing (deploys and quality): Railway, Firebase Hosting, GitHub Actions; pytest, flutter_test, Vitest, Jest, Playwright

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What you'll work on

These are the kinds of projects our team has shipped recently, and the kind you will own:

  • AI agents. Improve the onboarding, Concierge and matching agents: their prompts, their tools, and the LangGraph state machine that steers each conversation.
  • Agent evaluation. Extend our eval harness, which runs agents against simulated users, scores them with an LLM judge and tracks the cost of every run, so we know a prompt change made things better.
  • Voice. Work on real-time voice onboarding built on the OpenAI Realtime API, over WebSocket on mobile and WebRTC on the web.
  • Document understanding. Turn CVs, pitch decks and LinkedIn profiles into structured profile data.
  • Product features end to end. Build things like call reminders, match nudges, group calls and in-app alerts across the backend, Firestore and both clients.
  • Events and admin tools. Build the dashboards that event organisers use to seed attendees, track app usage and send email at scale.
  • Quality and security. Write tests at every layer, harden Firestore rules and help keep production stable.

What we're looking for

You are studying computer science, software engineering or a related field, or you have equivalent experience from projects or bootcamps.

  • You write solid code in Python and in TypeScript or JavaScript.
  • You have built and shipped at least one full-stack project with a frontend, a backend and a database. Send us the link.
  • You have built something with an LLM API (OpenAI, Anthropic or similar) beyond a single prompt in a playground.
  • You are comfortable with Git, pull requests and code review.
  • You write tests without being asked, and you know why they matter.
  • You can read an unfamiliar codebase, find your way around it and ask good questions when you're stuck.

Nice to have

  • Flutter and Dart, or another mobile framework
  • React or Next.js in production
  • Firebase: Firestore, Cloud Functions, security rules
  • LangGraph, LangChain or other agent frameworks; tool calling; evals
  • Real-time audio or video: WebRTC, WebSockets, speech-to-text
  • Clean Architecture, dependency injection, state management (Riverpod, Redux or similar)
  • An interest in startups. Our users are founders, and it helps to understand what they need.

How we work

  • Architecture matters. The mobile app follows Clean Architecture with MVVM. The backend uses repositories, a single graph service and shared prompt builders. You will learn to write code that fits the system, not just code that runs.
  • Tests ship with the code. Every change comes with tests at the matching layer, plus an end-to-end test when a user journey changes.
  • We build with AI. We use AI coding agents every day and expect you to as well. You stay responsible for reviewing, testing and understanding every line you merge.
  • Security by default. Every route authenticates, every Firestore collection has explicit rules, and logs never contain personal data.
  • We write it down. We keep architecture docs, a fixes knowledge base and a decision log. You will add to them.
  • Real ownership. You get your own features, you get code review from the team, and your work goes to production.
