Role Description
The AI Governance Engineer supports the implementation of the AAD AI Governance Framework across Assisted & Automated Driving programmes. The role works with engineering teams to identify AI systems, coordinate governance activities, maintain compliance documentation, and ensure AI systems are managed in accordance with internal governance processes and applicable regulatory requirements. The role acts as a key point of contact for governance activities while supporting the AI Governance Lead in driving compliance and adoption across the department.

Main Responsibilities
- Support classification and governance assessment of AI systems across AAD.
- Coordinate completion and maintenance of AI governance documentation and evidence.
- Maintain the AAD AI Inventory and track governance status, actions, and annual reviews.
- Work with project teams, engineers, and suppliers to gather information required for compliance activities.
- Monitor governance actions and ensure timely closure of deliverables.
- Support audits, reviews, and continuous improvement of AI governance processes.
- Promote AI governance awareness and responsible AI practices across the department.
- Support governance and compliance assessment of supplier-provided AI technologies.

Good to Have
- Knowledge of AI/ML technologies and AI governance principles.
- Awareness of the EU AI Act and ISO/IEC 42001.
- Familiarity with automotive development processes and standards such as ISO 26262, ISO 21448 and ISO/SAE 21434.
- Experience with compliance, regulatory, systems engineering, safety, or quality processes.
- Experience using JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, and engineering lifecycle management tools.
