Role: AI Lead
Location: London, office based
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 4 Months initially
Traditional Daily Rate: Up to £700 per day inside IR35 (dependent on experience)

We’re looking for an experienced Responsible AI Lead / Responsible AI SME to join a leading organisation and play a key role in shaping how AI is governed, assessed and deployed responsibly across the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong AI governance, AI ethics, risk and regulatory experience who can operate confidently with senior stakeholders and translate principles and regulations into practical controls.
The Role
You’ll be accountable for implementing and advising on Responsible AI principles defined in AIMS across the organisation’s AI portfolio.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible AI Framework & Standards
- Maintain Responsible AI principles, practices and guidance.
- Work with Legal to establish requirements around fairness, transparency, explainability, accountability and human oversight.
- Develop practical controls and assessment criteria for AI use cases.

AI Risk Assessments
- Lead Responsible AI reviews for high-risk and business-critical AI solutions.
- Assess bias, fairness, explainability, safety and unintended consequences.
- Recommend mitigation actions to support safe deployment.

Governance & Regulatory
- Embed Responsible AI controls into the AI lifecycle and governance framework.
- Partner with Governance Operations to operationalise requirements across platforms and tooling.
- Monitor emerging AI standards, regulations and industry best practice.
- Support Responsible AI audits and assurance activities.

Education & Adoption
- Act as a Responsible AI thought leader and trusted adviser.
- Develop playbooks, guidance, training and awareness programmes.
- Promote Responsible AI as an enabler of innovation.

We’re Looking For
- 8–12+ years’ experience across AI/ML, Data Science, AI Governance, Model Risk or Technology Risk.
- Strong experience evaluating AI risks, fairness, transparency and explainability.
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing enterprise decision-making.
- Experience within regulated or complex enterprise environments preferred.
