AI & Legal Technologist

Central London, Hybrid working
£80,000 - £90,000 + benefits

A leading international law firm with offices across the UK, Europe and beyond is seeking an Innovation AI & Legal Technologist to join its growing legal innovation team. This research and development focused role sits at the forefront of the firm's AI agenda, exploring how emerging technologies, data integration and orchestration can transform the delivery of legal services. The successful candidate will work alongside technology, change and risk specialists, with real influence over which tools are adopted and how they are scaled across the firm.

Key Responsibilities of the AI & Legal Technologist

  • Research and pilot emerging technology - Evaluate new AI tools, orchestration layers and Model Context Protocols, running proof-of-concept pilots to improve how legal services are delivered.
  • Drive data and platform integration - Explore integration opportunities using platforms such as PowerApps and Copilot to extend and connect the firm's existing legal technology.
  • Lead cross-functional pilot programmes - Partner with IT, change and risk and compliance teams to test new ways of working and build the business case for wider rollout.
  • Build, test and refine solutions - Configure technology, develop document automation and manage a roadmap of iterative improvements, ensuring solutions are thoroughly tested.
  • Promote innovation across the firm - Demonstrate solutions to colleagues, support case studies and marketing material, and speak at relevant industry events and conferences.

Skills & Attributes of the AI & Legal Technologist

  • AI and integration experience - Demonstrable experience researching, evaluating and piloting AI technologies and data integration platforms to solve business problems.
  • Low-code and orchestration knowledge - Familiarity with integration tools or low-code platforms such as PowerApps.
  • Legal or professional services background - Experience within a law firm or professional services environment, including hands-on work with workflow and automation technology.
  • Strong cross-functional influence - Proven senior stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work across technology, change and compliance teams.
  • Curious and adaptable innovator - Quick to master new technologies, comfortable learning from failure and motivated to change things for the better.
