About the Role

We are looking for an experienced AI & Machine Learning Engineer to develop, package, deploy and monitor production-ready AI solutions. You will work across modern model architectures, agentic patterns, retrieval-augmented generation and cloud-based model serving on GCP.
Location: Manchester, UK
Basis: 12-month fixed term contract
Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI and machine learning solutions using Python and PyTorch.
- Apply transformer architectures and agent patterns such as ReAct.
- Design and implement retrieval-augmented generation solutions.
- Package and serve models using containers, KServe and Vertex AI endpoints.
- Work with feature registries and model registries to manage the model lifecycle.
- Build CI/CD processes for model delivery and establish model monitoring and drift detection.
- Implement cost-efficient autoscaling and GPU scheduling.
- Support canary, shadow and A/B testing deployment approaches.
- Work with Docker, cloud databases and GCP services to deliver scalable solutions.

What We’re Looking For
- Strong Python and PyTorch experience.
- Good understanding of transformer architecture.
- Experience with agent architectures such as ReAct.
- Hands-on GCP knowledge.
- Experience with Docker and cloud databases.
- Practical RAG experience.
- Experience serving models through KServe or Vertex AI endpoints.
- Knowledge of feature and model registries, CI/CD, model monitoring and drift detection.
- Experience with autoscaling, GPU scheduling, canary and shadow deployments, and A/B testing.
