AI Model Risk & Governance Lead
Salary: circa £90,000 to circa £120,000
Location: UK Flexible (Excluding London) - and we're happy to consider flexible and hybrid working.

A bit about the job
You'll join Aviva's Group Model Validation Centre of Excellence, providing independent oversight and assurance across a range of business-critical models.
- Working across advanced analytics, machine learning and AI applications, you'll review and challenge models supporting pricing, reserving, customer insight and operational decision-making.
- Partnering with model owners, risk specialists and senior stakeholders, you'll assess model performance, governance and regulatory compliance, helping ensure models are robust, reliable and fit for purpose.
- You'll also contribute to the development of validation methodologies and best practice, helping shape Aviva's approach to governing emerging technologies.
Skills and experience we're looking for
- Significant experience in model validation, model risk management, model review or quantitative risk-based roles.
- Strong understanding of advanced analytics, machine learning and AI models, with experience providing independent oversight and challenge.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex quantitative techniques and communicate findings effectively.
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across analytics, risk, technology and business functions.
- Qualified actuary or equivalent quantitative professional experience would be highly desirable. Knowledge of Solvency UK requirements and capital modelling would be advantageous.

- Starting salary between c. £90,000 and c. £120,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity - 12% of annual salary, (actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.)
