Role: AI Native DevOps Platform Engineer

Are you an experienced DevOps or Platform Engineer looking to build the next generation of cloud infrastructure using Azure, Terraform, automation, and AI-first engineering practices? We're looking for a hands-on AI Native DevOps Platform Engineer to design, automate, secure, and operate highly scalable Azure platforms supporting both AI-powered and traditional cloud-native applications.
This is an opportunity to join an ambitious, product-led environment where AI is becoming a core part of the engineering lifecycle. You'll work closely with Product Engineering teams and Technical Leadership to build cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and observability capabilities, while exploring how AI agents and intelligent automation can safely provision, deploy, operate, and optimise infrastructure at scale.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and operate secure, resilient, and highly available Azure cloud platforms
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and modern automation practices
- Develop cloud-native infrastructure using Azure services, containers, and serverless technologies
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines that enable fast, reliable software delivery
- Create self-service development environments, reusable platform services, and engineering tooling
- Use AI-assisted and agent-driven approaches to improve infrastructure delivery and engineering productivity
- Build platforms that enable AI agents to safely provision, test, deploy, configure, and manage cloud environments
- Develop governance controls, guardrails, and approval workflows around AI-driven infrastructure changes
- Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting across cloud platforms
- Establish SRE principles and drive improvements across reliability, resilience, and operational performance
- Embed security and governance throughout the software delivery lifecycle
- Optimise Azure environments for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost
- Support model-serving infrastructure and AI observability capabilities
- Lead incident response and drive continuous improvement across platform operations
- Support engineering teams working with distributed systems and microservices architectures

Required Experience
- Strong experience working as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, SRE, or Cloud Engineer
- Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform
- Experience building and managing modern CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tooling
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, containerisation, and container orchestration
- Experience deploying and supporting distributed systems and microservices
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and production platform operations
- Experience implementing observability across monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting
- Experience building reliable, scalable, and highly available cloud environments
- Hands-on experience using AI tools or automation to improve infrastructure delivery, engineering productivity, or operational efficiency
- Strong understanding of security, governance, and controls within cloud environments
- Experience supporting modern software engineering teams within fast-paced environments

This role would suit an engineer who is strong at the fundamentals of Azure, DevOps, Terraform, and platform engineering, but also wants to push beyond traditional infrastructure engineering and explore how AI can transform the way cloud platforms are built and operated.
