AI Platform Engineer

£480 p/d Inside IR35

Hays are now looking for an AI Platform Engineer for one of our local clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop MCP servers exposing SharePoint and Azure AI Search capabilities to AI agents.
  • Build SharePoint and Microsoft Graph ingestion pipelines for documents, emails, and attachments.
  • Design and implement RAG and agentic AI workflows using Azure OpenAI.
  • Deliver hybrid search solutions combining semantic and vector retrieval.
  • Implement secure, permission-aware access controls using Entra ID and OAuth.
  • Produce production-ready solutions including testing, CI/CD, logging, and documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a junior engineer.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • MCP server development and AI agent tooling
  • Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, RAG, and prompt engineering
  • SharePoint Online and Microsoft Graph API
  • Hybrid semantic/vector search
  • Enterprise API development and document processing
  • Azure (Functions and/or Container Apps)
  • Entra ID and OAuth/OIDC
  • CI/CD, testing, and production support
  • Software engineering experience, ideally using Python and/or C#/.NET
