AI Programme Manager
Carlisle
£70-90k base
Initially in the office 2-3 days a week. Will move to 2 days a month after initial period.
Lead AI Adoption at Enterprise Scale
We're looking for an experienced AI Programme Manager with Financial Services experience - to establish and lead a new AI Centre of Excellence within a financial Services organisation.
This is a unique opportunity to shape how Artificial Intelligence is adopted across the business, creating the governance, operating models and delivery framework that will enable AI to be implemented safely, responsibly and at scale.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in programme delivery, transformation, governance or operational excellence who has recent experience supporting AI adoption, AI enablement or AI governance initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing
- Establish and lead an AI Centre of Excellence
- Develop AI governance frameworks, policies and best practices
- Create processes for identifying, prioritising and delivering AI opportunities
- Partner with senior stakeholders across the organisation
- Implement risk controls and responsible AI guardrails
- Build business cases and benefit realisation frameworks
- Evaluate AI technologies, vendors and emerging capabilities
- Drive AI awareness, education and adoption across the business
- Ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Strong programme, transformation or change management experience
- Experience designing governance frameworks, operating models or Centres of Excellence
- Experience working within financial services or another regulated industry
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Experience delivering technology-enabled business change
Highly Desirable
- Direct experience with AI adoption, AI governance, Generative AI or intelligent automation initiatives
- Experience supporting enterprise-wide transformation programmes
- Understanding of risk management, compliance and control frameworks.
