About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced AI Project Manager to join the Projects team in Southampton and take responsibility for delivering AI-related projects across the firm.
This is a key role within the firm's ongoing AI and digital transformation programme. You will work closely with business leaders, technology and data teams, risk, legal, compliance and external partners to turn AI opportunities into well-managed, practical solutions.
You will lead projects from initial planning through to implementation and adoption, ensuring that initiatives are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standards. You will also play an important role in ensuring AI is introduced responsibly, with appropriate governance, stakeholder engagement and measurable business benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead AI projects from initial planning and scoping through to delivery, implementation and adoption.
- Translate business requirements into clear project plans, priorities, milestones and measurable outcomes.
- Manage project budgets, resources, timelines, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Coordinate stakeholders across business, technology, data, risk, legal, compliance and external suppliers.
- Oversee AI solution delivery, including requirements gathering, testing, implementation and operational handover.
- Work closely with technical specialists to understand AI solutions and ensure they meet business requirements.
- Coordinate testing and validation activities to ensure solutions are fit for purpose before launch.
- Lead business change and adoption activity, including stakeholder engagement, communications, training and implementation.
- Monitor project benefits and outcomes to ensure AI initiatives deliver sustainable business value.
- Maintain effective project governance, ensuring appropriate approvals, controls and reporting are in place.
- Support responsible AI delivery by considering privacy, information security, compliance, risk and ethical requirements.
- Facilitate project meetings, workshops and decision-making forums.
- Prepare clear project reports and updates for senior stakeholders and governance committees.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of AI project delivery, governance and change management practices.
- Support and coach colleagues to build confidence and capability in adopting AI-driven change.

Candidate Profile
We are seeking a proactive and delivery-focused Project Manager with experience delivering technology and business change projects and a genuine interest in AI and emerging technologies.
You will be an organised and effective communicator who can work confidently across business and technical teams, manage stakeholders at all levels and drive successful adoption of AI and digital solutions.
Skills & Experience
- At least 3 years' project management experience, delivering technology and business change projects.
- Experience managing AI, data, analytics, automation or digital transformation initiatives.
- Good understanding of project management methodologies and delivery frameworks.
- Knowledge of AI technologies, including generative AI, machine learning and automation.
- Strong understanding of data quality, governance, privacy, information security and compliance principles.
- Experience supporting business change through stakeholder engagement, communications, training and adoption.
- Knowledge of change management principles and best practice.
- Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders, including business leaders, technical teams, suppliers and governance functions.
- Strong project planning, organisation and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience managing project budgets.
- Experience presenting project updates and recommendations to senior stakeholders and governance groups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project or Jira.

Desirable
- Experience within a regulated, professional services or financial services environment.
- Knowledge of information security, AI governance or responsible AI practices.
- Experience delivering Generative AI, automation or data-led transformation projects.
- PRINCE2, PMQ, PMP or equivalent project management qualification.
- AI, data or change management certifications.
The Person
You will be curious about AI and emerging technology, while also bringing a structured and pragmatic approach to project delivery.
You will be comfortable working in an evolving environment, managing multiple stakeholders and translating complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
The successful candidate will combine strong project management experience, an understanding of AI and digital transformation, and excellent stakeholder and change management skills to help the firm deliver meaningful and responsible AI-driven change.
