Role Summary
This is a part-time, Outside IR35 contract, offering mostly remote working and very occasional travel to Reading/Slough area.
Support an enterprise AI knowledge programme by assessing the existing SharePoint and Microsoft 365 environment, designing the future knowledge architecture and providing guidance during implementation. Working alongside an AI Architect and Delivery Lead, you will establish the content structures, governance and security foundations needed for Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft Search and Copilot Studio. The role focuses on architecture, knowledge management and advisory support rather than SharePoint development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the existing SharePoint estate, information architecture, metadata, content ownership and search capabilities, identifying gaps and improvement priorities.
- Review permissions, external sharing and governance to identify security and oversharing risks.
- Design the target SharePoint and knowledge architecture, covering hubs, sites, navigation, content types, metadata and enterprise taxonomy.
- Define governance standards for content ownership, publishing, review cycles, site lifecycle management and Power Automate.
- Produce architecture documentation and a prioritised remediation and implementation roadmap.
- Provide design assurance and technical guidance to implementation teams, supporting a business pilot and validating the proposed governance model.
- Lead stakeholder workshops and transfer knowledge to internal Microsoft 365 teams.

- Experience delivering Copilot readiness, AI readiness or enterprise knowledge transformation programmes is desirable. Relevant Microsoft certifications would be advantageous.
- Extensive enterprise SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 experience, with strong architecture and solution design expertise.
- Proven experience in information architecture and knowledge management, including metadata, managed metadata, taxonomy and content structures.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Search and how content quality, permissions and information architecture affect Microsoft 365 Copilot retrieval.
- Understanding of Copilot Studio and its use of enterprise knowledge sources.
- Experience with SharePoint security, permissions, external sharing and information governance, alongside working knowledge of Entra ID.
- Knowledge of Power Automate and workflow governance.
- Experience conducting current-state assessments, developing remediation roadmaps and providing architectural assurance.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and documentation skills, with the ability to work with technical teams and business content owners.
