The role
This company builds foundational intelligence for the physical world. Their mission: protect democracies through technological leadership. They develop large-scale models that transform complex multimodal sensor data into autonomous capabilities, integrating with existing hardware across operational domains. Backed by leading investors, they've scaled rapidly to over 800 people across Europe, with significant funding and a team from top-tier AI and tech companies.
This isn't a pure research role. Nor is it just applying off-the-shelf models. You'll sit at the intersection of AI research and machine learning engineering, owning the entire model lifecycle for Vision-Language Models. From data curation to training and evaluation, you'll fine-tune VLMs on custom, large-scale datasets, directly powering products that operate in the physical world. Expect significant ownership and a direct contribution to the company's internal research culture.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
