AI Security Engineer
Multiple Locations Available: London, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield or Edinburgh
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)
Contract Length: Initial 12-month contract
Start Date: 1st November 2026
Rate: £580 per day (Inside IR35)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced AI Security Engineer to join a major enterprise-scale programme focused on securing modern cloud, AI, and digital platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of cyber security, helping shape secure AI adoption, cloud security strategy, threat modelling, and enterprise security architecture across large-scale environments.
The successful candidate will bring a strong blend of technical security expertise, cloud experience, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate emerging threats across complex technology landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and enhance the security posture of AI-enabled systems, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
- Conduct threat modelling exercises using recognised frameworks such as STRIDE and MITRE ATT&CK.
- Identify security risks across modern architectures including RESTful APIs, microservices, and containerised environments.
- Provide security guidance throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring secure-by-design principles are embedded.
- Collaborate with architecture, engineering, operational, and business teams to deliver pragmatic security solutions.
- Support security assessments, risk reviews, and remediation planning across enterprise environments.
- Evaluate emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities, providing recommendations to improve resilience.
- Ensure alignment with industry security frameworks and standards including ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP, PCI DSS, and COBIT.
- Contribute to security governance, risk management, and compliance activities.

Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of modern enterprise technologies, including Cloud and AI platforms.
- Experience working with contemporary architectures such as RESTful APIs, containerised applications, and microservices.
- Up-to-date understanding of current cyber threats, attack techniques, and threat modelling frameworks including STRIDE and MITRE ATT&CK.
- Extensive knowledge across key cyber security domains, including: Identity & Access Management (IAM); Endpoint Security; Network Security; Cryptography; Cloud Security.
- Experience within Public Cloud and/or Private Cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of security standards and frameworks such as: ISO 27000 Series; NIST; OWASP; PCI DSS; COBIT.
- Professional security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent.
- Technical security certifications such as CEH, OSCP, or equivalent.
