AI Software Engineer
Our client, an AI-first UK SaaS start-up in the social media and market intelligence space, is seeking an AI Software Engineer who would rather direct AI to write code than write it by hand. Coding agents already write most of the codebase. You'll plan the work, run fleets of agents to build it, and design the systems that let them ship quickly and reliably. You'll report directly to the Founder. The role is UK-based and remote or hybrid.
What you'll do
- Plan features with the Founder and deliver them end to end using AI coding agents
- Build and improve the agent systems: work queues, parallel builds, automated review and merging
- Review AI-written code for correctness and catch what tests miss
- Turn recurring mistakes into automated quality gates
- Evaluate new models and agent tooling as they're released, and adopt what makes the team faster
- Own the AI inside the product: prompts, output quality and cost per customer

What you'll bring
- Strong commercial experience with TypeScript, React and Node.js
- Production experience with Next.js and PostgreSQL
- Daily, hands-on use of AI coding agents such as Claude Code
- A real preference for AI-generated code over hand-written code
- Solid testing practice, meaning tests that fail when the feature breaks
- An evidence-led approach: you prove a fix works before calling it done

- Multi-agent workflows or Claude Code hooks, skills and subagents
- The Claude API or LLM pipelines at scale
- MCP servers
- BullMQ/Redis
