Senior AI Solution Engineer

💰 £550/day (Inside IR35) 📍 London (3 days per week onsite)

Our client is looking for a Senior AI Solution Engineer to build and operate production-grade Generative AI solutions within a large, regulated enterprise. You’ll work directly with business stakeholders to turn complex problems into practical AI solutions, owning delivery from discovery and architecture through development, deployment, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build production-grade GenAI applications, copilots, and AI agents.
  • Develop end-to-end RAG pipelines, including ingestion, chunking, embeddings, vector search, and retrieval.
  • Build agentic workflows with appropriate guardrails and human oversight.
  • Develop evaluation frameworks to measure accuracy, latency, and hallucination rates.
  • Own solutions through development, deployment, observability, and optimisation.
  • Apply FinOps principles to manage AI and infrastructure costs.
  • Embed security, privacy, IAM, encryption, and audit controls into AI solutions.
  • Work with InfoSec, Data Governance, Risk, and Compliance teams.
  • Create reusable AI frameworks, patterns, and technical documentation.

Essential Experience

  • 10+ years’ software engineering experience, with strong Python skills.
  • Hands-on production experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications.
  • Strong experience with RAG, prompt engineering, retrieval, and AI agents.
  • Strong system design, API, distributed systems, and cloud-native experience.
  • Experience with LLM evaluation, testing, and guardrails.
  • Experience implementing security and compliance controls in production.
  • Strong stakeholder communication and technical discovery skills.
  • Experience working independently in complex enterprise environments.

  • Financial services or other regulated-sector experience.
  • pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, or Chroma.
  • LangChain, LlamaIndex, or MCP.
  • MLOps/LLMOps, model monitoring, and evaluation.

  • Experience mentoring engineers and establishing technical standards.
