Job description:

Westcoast Cloud are one of the UK and Ireland’s leading indirect cloud distributors specialising in managed cloud services and solutions. We have grown from 5 to more than 70 staff and we currently provide this service to partners and hold large market share across all indirect distributors in each of the Microsoft service pillars.

This position is offered on a hybrid basis, working three days per week from our modern offices in Theale, Reading (near M4 Junction 12), which feature ample parking and are conveniently located near Theale Train Station.

The Job Role

The successful candidate will help drive the adoption of AI across the business. In this exciting role, you will work with stakeholders to identify opportunities where Microsoft Copilot and AI technologies can improve productivity, streamline processes, enhance decision-making and deliver measurable business value.

This is a hands-on role where you will design, build and deploy secure, scalable AI solutions from concept through to implementation and continuous improvement. You'll help establish best practices, governance standards and reusable frameworks that accelerate AI innovation, while ensuring solutions are user-friendly, well-managed and aligned with responsible AI principles.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Engaging with teams across Group entities to identify problems, gather requirements and define suitable AI use cases.
  • Designing and developing solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 Copilot extensibility, Power Platform and relevant Azure AI services.
  • Creating custom copilots and agents, automated workflows, prompts, connectors, actions and integrations with approved business systems and data sources.
  • Building prototypes and proofs of concept, validate them with stakeholders and develop successful concepts into production-ready solutions.
  • Translating business requirements into solution designs, user stories, technical specifications and clear acceptance criteria.
  • Testing solutions for functional quality, accuracy, usability, performance, security and reliability before release.
  • Managing solution deployment, version control, configuration and release processes across development, test and production environments.
  • Collaborating with IT, infosec, data, application owners and business stakeholders to ensure solutions integrate effectively with the wider technology estate apply data protection, access control, environment management, governance and responsible AI principles throughout the solution lifecycle.

Is this the role for you?

To be successful in this role you will have some of the following skills and experience and the desire to develop in other areas:

  • Practical experience developing solutions with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform and AI technologies.
  • Strong understanding of generative AI concepts, prompt design, grounding, agents, connectors and workflow automation.
  • Experience gathering requirements and converting business problems into reliable technical solutions.
  • Ability to integrate solutions with APIs, data sources and business applications using secure and supportable methods.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Dataverse and the wider Microsoft cloud ecosystem.
  • Understanding of security, identity, permissions, data protection and governance, ideally including Microsoft Entra and the Power Platform administration model.
  • A logical and methodical approach to development, testing, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative and committed to maintaining high technical and documentation standards.
  • Ideally you will have completed relevant Microsoft certifications, such as AI-900, PL-900, PL-400, PL-600, AZ-204 or equivalent practical experience.
