AI Solutions Engineer
UK - Remote - No sponsorship, sorry
Salary - £70k - £100k
You'll be building AI and automation into how a specialist Microsoft security partner runs its own business. This is a greenfield, internal-facing role. You'll learn how sales, presales, marketing and customer success actually work today, then design and build the solutions that take manual effort out of them.
What you'll do
- Run discovery sessions with business and technical teams, mapping processes, systems, pain points and manual work
- Prioritise where AI and automation will make a measurable difference, and challenge current processes to design better future-state workflows
- Build prototypes quickly, then take the ones that work through to production
- Develop AI agents, tool-calling workflows and automation that integrate with existing systems, APIs and data sources
- Design human-in-the-loop controls, guardrails and monitoring, and measure each solution against agreed business outcomes
- Establish the reusable architecture and engineering patterns that future AI work will build on

What you'll need
Essential:
- Strong software engineering experience in any language. You'll write the code yourself, not just prompt tools to write it
- Hands-on experience building applications on AI platforms, including agents, tool-calling workflows or deterministic automation
- Experience integrating applications with APIs, databases and external systems
- Solution design and architecture skills, with a record of turning ambiguous business problems into working solutions
- Confidence running discovery with senior stakeholders and analysing how a team really operates
- Comfortable owning outcomes autonomously in a greenfield environment

Nice to have:
- Agent and workflow orchestration frameworks, or workflow and automation platforms
- RAG, embeddings, vector search, prompt and context engineering, and LLM evaluation and monitoring
- Azure, AWS or GCP, and CI/CD for AI applications in production
- AI security, permissions, governance and guardrails
