Job description

About the Role

At TELUS Digital, we are advancing the future of Artificial Intelligence by helping AI systems understand, process, and generate human speech with greater accuracy and naturalness.

As an AI Speech & Audio Specialist in our AI Community, you will contribute to the development and improvement of next-generation speech AI technologies, including Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Text-to-Speech (TTS), Voice AI, and audio machine learning systems.

We rely on our global community of specialists to evaluate, create, refine, and improve high-quality speech and audio datasets. Your expertise in audio production, speech analysis, linguistics, or voice technology will help ensure AI models deliver natural, accurate, culturally relevant, and human-like voice experiences.

At TELUS Digital, you will play a key role in shaping how AI listens, understands, and communicates with people around the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate AI-generated speech (TTS) for naturalness, pronunciation accuracy, rhythm, tone, emotion, and overall voice quality.
  • Review and improve speech recognition outputs (ASR) by identifying transcription errors, pronunciation issues, accents, and linguistic nuances.
  • Perform professional audio editing tasks including segmentation, trimming, noise reduction, silence adjustment, and quality enhancement.
  • Analyze audio recordings using waveform and spectrogram-based tools to identify quality issues.
  • Support the creation and validation of high-quality speech datasets used for AI model training and evaluation.
  • Review voice recordings for clarity, consistency, articulation, and technical quality.
  • Perform audio quality checks including loudness levels, background noise detection, clipping, distortion, and export specifications.
  • Support voice AI projects including TTS, ASR, voice generation, voice similarity, voice mimicry, and conversational AI evaluation.
  • Apply expertise in phonetics, linguistics, audio engineering, or speech technology to improve AI-generated voice experiences.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
