Lead Consultant, Data & AI Strategy

Contract type/Location: Near London ideally, flexible for the right candidate

We're hiring a Lead Consultant to join the Financial Services and insurance focused data and AI consulting practice of one of the biggest companies in the world.

This is an advisory role, not a technical delivery one. You'll be the strategic partner to the technical lead on engagements, bringing real consulting range: comfortable in the room with senior stakeholders, confident owning commercial conversations, and able to navigate the practical realities of legacy platforms and tech debt.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading client relationship management directly alongside the technical lead, holding your own with senior FS and insurance stakeholders
  • Understanding and managing tech debt conversations, speaking credibly into legacy platform constraints (policy admin, claims systems) and how that shapes what's realistically deliverable
  • Owning budget conversations and commercial framing, balancing client demand against margin and delivery cost
  • Running project management across advisory engagements, sequencing workstreams, managing scope creep, and keeping delivery on track
  • Driving commercial outcomes, not just tracking delivery but ensuring engagements move the needle for the client commercially
  • Setting and tracking KPIs, defining what success looks like for a strategy engagement and reporting on it at a senior level
  • Navigating client politics and balancing client demand with what's commercially sustainable

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
