We're recruiting an experienced, hands-on AI Tech Lead Developer to join a technology consultancy delivering enterprise-scale Generative and Agentic AI solutions for a major financial services client.
This is an opportunity to lead a team of AI Developers, combining technical leadership with hands-on engineering to build secure, scalable AI applications within a complex enterprise environment.
You'll work alongside experienced architects, platform engineers and development teams, helping shape the technical direction and delivery of production-ready AI solutions.
The role
- Leading a team of AI Developers delivering enterprise-grade Generative and Agentic AI solutions
- Designing and developing Python and Java services, APIs and AI components
- Building LLM integrations, RAG architectures and agent-based workflows
- Developing prompt orchestration, output validation and AI evaluation capabilities
- Working with AWS services including Bedrock, AgentCore, EKS, EC2, S3 and SQS
- Designing CI/CD pipelines, automation and DevOps practices
- Integrating AI services with enterprise security and observability frameworks
- Collaborating with architects and engineering teams to establish reusable patterns and engineering standards
- Providing technical guidance, troubleshooting and performance optimisation

What we're looking for
You'll have strong commercial software engineering experience, with hands-on Generative AI development expertise and experience leading technical teams. We'd expect experience across a good mix of:
- Strong Python, Java and FastAPI development experience
- Generative AI, Agentic AI and Large Language Models
- RAG architectures, prompt orchestration and LLM integration
- AWS cloud engineering, particularly Bedrock and AgentCore
- CI/CD, DevOps and engineering automation
- RESTful APIs, microservices and distributed systems
- Technical leadership and mentoring
- Experience delivering secure, production-grade applications

Experience with Terraform, GitOps, Kong API Gateway, vector search, SQL/NoSQL databases and AI evaluation tools such as Arize or Promptfoo would also be useful.
Previous experience working within financial services, insurance or other regulated environments would be beneficial.
What's on offer

Ideally, you'll have 12+ years' commercial experience and be available immediately or within four weeks.
