AI Technical Solutions Lead
12-month fixed-term contract | UK remote | Senior individual contributor | No direct reports
Quadmark designs and delivers technical training and enablement for some of the world’s leading technology and AI companies.
We’re looking for an AI Technical Solutions Lead to become a trusted technical authority for our AI work, helping us turn ambitious client ideas into technically credible solutions and ensuring the AI programmes we build and deliver are accurate, current and effective. This is a hands-on role sitting at the intersection of AI, client consulting and technical enablement.
You might currently work in solutions engineering, applied AI, technical consulting, forward-deployed engineering or technical pre-sales. Whatever your title, you’ll need to be comfortable moving between a conversation with a client’s technical stakeholders, briefing an internal team in straightforward language and getting hands-on with an API, prototype, lab or simulation to prove that something actually works.
What you'll be doing
Around half of your focus will be on new client opportunities. You’ll get underneath a brief to understand the real technical requirement, assess feasibility and risk, identify dependencies and translate your findings into a clear approach that our teams and specialist partners can deliver.
The other half will focus on technical quality and readiness across existing AI programmes. You’ll review content, labs, code examples and demonstrations, test technical exercises and equip our facilitators with the understanding they need to teach complex AI topics confidently.
You’ll also:
- Act as a trusted AI technical advisor to our clients and internal teams.
- Build and test lightweight prototypes, proofs of concept, labs, simulations and internal tools to validate ideas and reduce technical risk.
- Work directly with AI models, APIs and developer tools to test whether proposed approaches work in practice.
- Translate complex AI concepts and terminology into clear, actionable briefs for technical and non-technical teams.
- Advise on the right AI tools and approaches for different client needs, including the trade-offs involved.
- Identify where client expectations and technical reality diverge and navigate those conversations constructively.
- Review technical content and demonstrations for accuracy before they reach learners.
- Brief and support facilitators on complex AI concepts, demonstrations and likely client questions.
- Keep pace with developments across AI models, developer tooling and implementation practices and turn them into practical recommendations.
- Capture and share useful patterns so we don't solve the same technical problem twice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What we're looking for
You'll need hands-on AI experience. We're looking for someone who has actually built, tested and troubleshot AI tools or applications, not someone whose experience is limited to talking about them.
You'll bring:
- Hands-on experience building and testing AI tools, applications, labs, simulations, prototypes or API integrations.
- Strong practical understanding of large language models and foundation models, including how they work, their limitations, context and data flows and multimodality.
- Experience with common AI application patterns including RAG, embeddings, vector databases, prompt engineering and fine-tuning.
- Familiarity with agentic systems, tools and actions, workflows, orchestration and MCP.
- Understanding of AI evaluation and safety, including evals, guardrails, moderation, human-in-the-loop approaches and observability.
- Advisory, consulting, solutions engineering or similar experience helping others understand which AI tools or approaches to use and why.
- Strong client-facing experience, including communicating confidently with senior and technical client stakeholders.
- The ability to take complicated technical information and translate it into simple, precise language for different audiences and teams.
- Strong problem decomposition: you can take a vague, high-stakes brief and create clarity without waiting for someone else to define the answer.

How you work
You'll thrive at Quadmark if you're proactive and take ownership. You'll follow an issue through rather than assuming someone else will pick it up and you'll care about the details because technical credibility matters. You're comfortable with ambiguity and patient when helping other people understand complex ideas. At the same time, you're agile and able to move quickly in an environment where both priorities and AI technology can change fast. You're precise about what technology can and can't do. You'd rather qualify a claim than oversell it, and you're comfortable constructively challenging an assumption when the evidence doesn't support it. You'll also be someone who enjoys enabling other people to succeed. This role has no direct reports: your impact comes through your expertise, judgement, communication and ability to make the people around you more effective.
Bonus points
We'd particularly like to hear from you if you have:
- A background in the technology industry.
- Experience in solutions engineering, forward-deployed engineering, applied AI or technical pre-sales.
- Experience in learning, enablement or consultancy.
- Hands-on experience with current developer tools such as Codex, Claude Code or Cursor.
- Experience working with major technology clients or partners.
The one thing
Make sure everything Quadmark scopes, builds and delivers in AI is technically sound, from the first client conversation to the last session delivered.
