AI Technology Learning & Adoption Team Lead – Legal Technology

Manchester | Hybrid Working
Permanent | Full-Time | Salary in the region of £50,000 to £70,000
Legal Technology / AI / Microsoft Copilot

Are you passionate about AI, Microsoft Copilot and the way emerging technology is transforming the legal sector? We are working with a highly successful and forward-thinking regional law firm that is investing significantly in technology, Artificial Intelligence and the way its people use technology across the business. As part of this continued investment, the firm is looking to appoint an AI Technology Learning & Adoption Team Lead to play a key role in driving the adoption of AI and Microsoft Copilot across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in technology learning, digital adoption or legal technology who understands that successful AI implementation isn't simply about introducing new software – it's about helping people understand it, trust it and use it effectively. Strong practical knowledge and experience of Microsoft Copilot is a key requirement for this position.

The Role

Working as part of the firm's Technology Learning & Adoption function, you will help shape and deliver the firm's technology learning and AI adoption strategy. You will take responsibility for day-to-day learning and adoption initiatives while helping legal teams and business services understand how Microsoft Copilot, Generative AI and other legal technologies can improve the way they work. The role combines AI adoption, Microsoft Copilot, technology training, change management and legal technology, making it particularly suited to someone who enjoys working at the intersection of people and technology.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading technology learning and adoption initiatives across the firm, with a particular focus on Microsoft Copilot and Generative AI.
  • Helping develop and deliver the firm's wider AI and technology adoption strategy.
  • Overseeing Copilot and Legal AI training and supporting colleagues responsible for delivering learning programmes.
  • Designing and delivering engaging technology training including inductions, new system rollouts, refresher sessions and role-specific learning programmes.
  • Developing practical adoption strategies that move users from initial awareness of AI tools through to confident and responsible everyday use.
  • Working closely with lawyers and business services teams to identify valuable AI and Copilot use cases within their day-to-day workflows.
  • Translating emerging AI capabilities into practical, easy-to-understand ways of working.
  • Developing high-quality learning resources including guides, e-learning, videos, communications, prompt libraries, demonstrations and practical AI use cases.
  • Supporting and developing a network of AI champions across the firm to encourage knowledge sharing and best practice.
  • Promoting the safe and responsible use of AI, particularly around confidentiality, information security and professional obligations within a legal environment.
  • Supporting technology pilots and new product releases, coordinating training, communications, user feedback and follow-up activity.
  • Monitoring adoption levels, training effectiveness and user feedback and using this information to improve engagement.
  • Producing technology tips, newsletters, demonstrations and engagement sessions to encourage continuous learning.
  • Keeping up to date with developments across Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft 365, Generative AI and legal technology and assessing how new capabilities could benefit the firm.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with at least three years' experience within technology learning, digital adoption, IT training, legal technology or a related technology change role. Previous experience within a law firm or professional services environment would be highly advantageous. Most importantly, you should have strong hands-on knowledge and practical experience of Microsoft Copilot, together with a good understanding of Generative AI and how these technologies can be introduced and adopted effectively within a professional environment.

You should also be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft 365.
  • A good understanding of Generative AI, including its capabilities, limitations and potential risks.
  • Experience delivering technology adoption, digital change or technology learning programmes.
  • Experience leading, coaching or coordinating colleagues and managing day-to-day priorities.
  • Confidence delivering engaging training to individuals and groups, both face-to-face and remotely.
  • The ability to communicate technical concepts in straightforward, practical language.
  • Experience creating learning and adoption materials such as guides, e-learning, videos, communications, prompts and practical use cases.
  • An understanding of learning methodologies, instructional design and the learning lifecycle.
  • The ability to analyse adoption data, feedback and learning outcomes and turn these into practical improvements.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach with the credibility to engage stakeholders at all levels.

Knowledge of legal technology platforms would be particularly useful, potentially including iManage, Intapp, Proclaim, BundleDocs, Adobe Acrobat Pro and DocuSign.

Experience using or administering a Learning Management System (LMS) would also be beneficial. Microsoft Office certifications and recognised training qualifications would be advantageous, although they are not essential.

Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a law firm that is genuinely embracing AI and emerging technology rather than simply talking about it. You'll have the opportunity to influence how Microsoft Copilot and other AI technologies are adopted across the business, working directly with lawyers, business services teams and senior technology stakeholders.

For someone passionate about AI, Microsoft Copilot, legal technology and digital adoption, this offers the chance to play an important role in shaping how a progressive law firm works in the future. The position will primarily be based from the firm's Manchester office with hybrid working, with occasional travel to other UK offices.
