Description
We are looking for an experienced AI Technology Learning and Adoption Team Lead to join our expanding Technology Team. Reporting to the Technology Learning and Adoption Team Manager, the successful candidate will lead day-to-day learning and adoption activity, continue to design and deliver high-quality technology training, and help drive the responsible adoption of AI across the firm. They will combine strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and legal technology with practical experience of change, learning and user adoption. We are looking for a collaborative, proactive, and credible team lead who can translate emerging technology into clear, practical, and role-relevant ways of working.
The role will primarily be based in our central Manchester office but will require occasional travel to our London and Liverpool offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Technology Learning and Adoption Manager and IT Director to shape and deliver the firm’s technology learning and AI adoption strategy.
- Oversee Copilot and Legal AI software training delivered by the Technology Learning and Adoption Specialist, working alongside the existing Learning and Adoption Team Lead.
- Design and deliver effective, engaging, and inclusive technology training across the firm, including induction, system rollouts, refresher learning, and learning pathways for role-specific development.
- Develop and implement adoption plans for AI tools, moving colleagues from initial awareness to confident, responsible, and effective use.
- Partner with legal teams and business services to identify valuable AI use cases, understand workflow needs, and translate them into practical learning and adoption activity.
- Create and maintain high-quality learning and adoption materials, including guides, e-learning modules, videos, communications, prompt libraries, and use-case examples.
- Promote safe and responsible AI use in line with the firm’s policies, information security requirements, confidentiality obligations, and professional standards, escalating concerns where appropriate.
- Support a network of AI champions and subject matter contacts to encourage peer learning, share good practice, and gather feedback.
- Monitor training effectiveness and technology adoption using attendance, assessment, usage, and feedback data, and report on progress, barriers, and recommended actions.
- Keep up to date with developments in AI, Microsoft 365, and legal technology, assessing their relevance and communicating practical implications to stakeholders.
- Support pilots and new technology releases by coordinating learning, communications, feedback, and follow-up activity, keeping key stakeholders informed throughout.
- Liaise with other relevant teams within the IT Department to ensure adoption activity is accurate, joined up, and appropriately governed.
- Identify current and future learning and adoption requirements across departments, roles, and locations, and contribute to a prioritised delivery plan.
- Produce regular technology tips, newsletters, demonstrations, and engagement sessions that encourage continuous learning and effective use of available tools.
- Maintain accurate learning records and update the Learning Management System.
- Review induction and ongoing learning requirements regularly with the Technology Learning and Adoption Manager.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
We are looking for candidates with at least three years’ experience in technology learning, digital adoption, or a related role, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment, who can also demonstrate:

- Experience of leading, coaching, or coordinating colleagues and managing day-to-day work priorities.
- Practical understanding of generative AI, Microsoft Copilot, and the opportunities, limitations, and risks associated with using AI in a legal environment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and an understanding of legal technology, preferably including systems such as Proclaim, iManage, Intapp, BundleDocs, Adobe Pro, and DocuSign.
- Experience of supporting technology adoption, behavioural change, or digital transformation, using insight and feedback to improve engagement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage colleagues at all levels and explain complex concepts clearly.
- Confidence and experience in delivering engaging learning to individuals and groups, both in person and online.
- Knowledge of current learning methods, instructional design, and the full learning cycle.
- Ability to create clear, accessible learning and adoption content, including guides, communications, e-learning, videos, prompt examples, and practical use cases.
- Ability to analyse adoption data, feedback, and learning outcomes and turn findings into practical improvements.
- A collaborative, self-motivated, and proactive approach, with sound judgement and a commitment to responsible AI use.
- Experience of using and administering an LMS system.
Qualifications/Certifications (Desirable but not required)
- Advanced certification in Microsoft Office 2016 upwards.
- Training Qualification such as Trainer Performance Monitoring and Assessment (TPMA).
